no secret, i can't wait to breed hedgies. and I know that is talked alot about why yuo breed.
Maybe it is such a thought of perfection, but i would love to be able to help everyone who wanted one get one. Because i know for me, cost, really has kind of held me back. so ther is this three fold thing of one costing 80 dollars to 120.
first: if you cant afford the cost of the animal can you really afford to keep it?
second: you have to break even some how cause every one knows you wont gain money
third: if i drop my price alot it will cut into everyone elses buisness
but in my mind there just has to be a way to make hedgehogs more well known. Because seriously, they are like the bomb.
I am hoping to start a library program up about them, and read some little hedgie book and teach aboutthem and take Sindri with me... I need to find out how to do that...

A library program would be good. I wouldn't drop the price...I mean think about how much some people pay for purebred dogs. I think just having breeders close helps raise interest.
And like you said: if you can't afford the cost of the animal can you afford the animal? Hedgehogs are special...not just your regular gerbil or hampster, they require more attention...People pay a lot more for farrets right? I think the hedgehog just needs more media type attention ;)

becasue people buy dogs for 300 dollars all the time and ignore them....
and a hedgie LOVEs spending time with you. you will have to meet him soon he is a doll
